RUN A SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
If you are part of a school organization, club, community organization, or a small business and looking to run a community service project, we always welcome and encourage a school supply drive!
Some helpful tips include encouraging participants to create flyers and post them in neighborhoods or a local business (like a coffee shop or bookstore) and create a community drop-off center where people can drop off school supplies for you to collect.
To drop off school supplies, our main administrative office is located 245 N Kukui St, #202 in Honolulu on most weekdays between 9am-4pm. Because we have a very small staff based out of this office and we often have meetings or assessments off-site, please call us at 808-537-6706 before heading down to make sure that someone will be here to assist you. We are unable to accept the following:
✗ No textbooks
✗ No books with religion or religious overtones
✗ No self-help books
✗ Outdated books of any kind with inappropriate language or outdated history and facts & figures
✗ Adult fiction or non-fiction. We are specific about the type of adult books we give to our learners.
✗ Pages or cover is torn or missing
✗ Pages are yellowed, sun-bleached, or extensively covered by highlighting or notes
✗ Cover is detached/missing
✗ Has live bugs, bug droppings, etc.
